We would like to thank you for giving your valuable time and attention during our 2nd Annual Virtual Mental Health Conference that took place on Wednesday, May 11 in which we explored topics of Culture, Equity, and Race in Mental Health. With over three hundred viewers tuning in live to the conference via YouTube and Facebook, we thank you all for your support and look forward to broadcasting more virtual conferences in the future.
During the conference, we were able to discuss issues affecting the Asian and other marginalized communities, addressed implicit bias and relevant cultural issues, and learned the importance of empowering our consumers as the experts in their own lives. We invite you to continue reflecting and having this difficult conversation with others in your community and engage in power with others.
We would also like to give a special thank you to our key conference speakers who included Dr. Sherry C. Wang, a licensed counseling psychologist, an infant, child, and early childhood mental health specialist; Jenny López, a licensed clinical social worker, Sunny Cho, a licensed marriage and family therapist, and Child Therapist Alina Gonzalez, an associate marriage and family therapist.
In addition to our wonderful presenters, we would like to thank Los Angeles County Supervisor, Sheila Kuehl, and Los Angeles City Council President,Nury Martinez,who participated and shared their support via a recorded message to the mental health community.
