El Centro de Amistad Welcomes New Executive Director Tamika Farr

San Fernando, CA — On September 9, 2013 El Centro De Amistad welcomed Tamika Farr as its newly appointed Executive Director. Tamika Farr previously served as the Executive Director of the YWCA Pasadena-Foothill Valley. While under Farr’s leadership, the YWCA was named Pasadena Star News 2012 Non-Profit of the Year. Prior to joining the YWCA, Farr worked with Rosemary Children Services (RCS) as the Director of Mental Health and Director of Development. While at RCS Farr oversaw the agency’s psychotherapy, psychiatric and day treatment services. Farr has also worked with Pacific Clinics, known for providing leading-edge behavioral healthcare services across the life-span to diverse populations. Since its incorporation in 1977, El Centro de Amistad, Inc. (ECDA) has provided comprehensive and culturally competent services for “at risk” youth, adults and their families. ECDA has provided mental health services, case management and medication support to over 100,000 individuals within the greater San Fernando Valley. “When our clients are free of depression, anxiety, excessive stress and worry, addictions and other psychological problems, they’re able to live thier lives to the fullest. I am excited about the mental health services that ECDA provides and the positive impact that we have on individuals and communities.” says Farr.
