El Centro de Amistad is proud to announce the launch of the Mission Gang Reduction and Youth Development (GRYD) Prevention Program, beginning July 1, 2026. This new program expands our commitment to supporting children, youth, and families by providing prevention services that promote healthy development, strengthen family relationships, and increase protective factors that help youth thrive.
The Mission GRYD Prevention Program is designed to serve youth and families living in communities identified as having elevated risk factors for future gang involvement and community violence. Through evidence-informed, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive services, the program will provide family-centered support, youth development activities, case management, referrals to community resources, and skill-building opportunities that foster resilience, positive decision-making, and long-term success.
For the last 50 years, El Centro de Amistad has been dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of the communities we serve. The addition of the Mission GRYD Prevention Program reflects our ongoing commitment to investing in children and families before challenges become crises. By working collaboratively with schools, community partners, and families, we aim to create safe, supportive environments where youth can reach their full potential.
We are excited to bring this important prevention program to our community and look forward to partnering with families, schools, and community organizations to build stronger, healthier neighborhoods throughout the San Fernando Valley.
