As the holidays approach, El Centro de Amistad (ECDA) is once again launching our annual Thanksgiving Food Basket & Gift Card Drive and Adopt-A-Family Christmas Program. These two campaigns are at the heart of our mission to support families in need throughout the San Fernando Valley, bringing warmth, hope, and joy to those facing financial hardship and the challenges of mental health illnesses.
Thanksgiving Food Basket & Gift Card Drive
This year, our goal is to provide 100 families with a secure Thanksgiving meal. Donations of non-perishable food baskets or $50 grocery gift cards to Food 4 Less, Ralphs, or Walmart will ensure families can gather around the table to share a warm holiday meal.
Donations are being accepted from September 8 through November 10 at our San Fernando, Canoga Park, and Panorama City offices.
Adopt-A-Family Christmas Program
The holiday season doesn’t stop there—through our Adopt-A-Family Christmas Program, running from October 6 through December 5, we invite sponsors to help spread cheer and hope by “adopting” a family.
Sponsors may choose a family size and fulfill their wish lists, ensuring children receive gifts and parents are supported with essential items. Donations are tax-deductible, and the deadline to adopt a family is December 1.
Together, these campaigns provide more than food and gifts—they offer stability, compassion, and the reassurance that families in our community are not alone. Your support helps create holiday memories that children and parents will carry with them long after the season ends.
