Thanks giving Joy Delivered El Centro de Amistad (ECDA) kicked off the holiday season with a Thanksgiving fundraiser that united the community in support of families in need. Thanks to the generosity of Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez, who provided turkey vouchers, Chaminade College Preparatory School for hosting a canned food drive, Enrique Sanchez, CPA, and his team at SLTG, LLP for their beautifully prepared bags of non-perishables and gift cards, and Murray Perez and his family for their gift card donations, ECDA provided 85 families with Thanksgiving baskets filled with essentials and $50 gift cards.
Your kindness and generosity allowed these families to enjoy warm and joyful holiday meals, making Thanksgiving a truly special occasion.
Adopt-A-Family: Spreading Christmas Magic
ECDA’s Adopt-A-Family Program exemplifies the spirit of giving by connecting generous sponsors with families facing financial hardships, ensuring they experience the magic of Christmas. Through the kindness of individuals, corporations, and community groups, ECDA brings hope and joy to families during the holiday season. Many sponsors find the experience so meaningful that they return year after year to make an impact.
Each participating family is carefully assessed to understand their unique needs, allowing them to create a wish list for each child. Sponsors then fulfill these wish lists by purchasing a gift, valued at under $50, for every child, ensuring smiles and happiness during the festive season.
This year, we were humbled by the support of sponsors such as Chase Bank, Kaiser Permanente–Panorama City, SLTG, LLP, and dedicated community members who made the holidays unforgettable for our ECDA families. Your unwavering generosity truly brightened the season for so many.
